Discover the pinnacle of craftsmanship with our Double Monk Strap, crafted from the finest Bonaudo Walnut museum calf. These shoes epitomize elegance and precision, featuring Yearn's signature Y07 chisel last. The sharp, graceful lines of the Y07 last complement the unique beauty of the museum calf leather, making these Double Monk Straps a distinguished addition to our exclusive Artisanal line.

The Double Monk Strap, a design with roots tracing back to European monasteries, was originally favored by monks for its practicality and durability. Unlike traditional lace-ups, the Double Monk Strap presents a sleek, streamlined appearance. The absence of laces creates an unbroken line across the vamp, contributing to its refined aesthetic. The buckles add a touch of distinctive character, allowing for both adjustability and a customized fit. This design effortlessly transitions from formal settings to more relaxed environments, making it a versatile addition to any wardrobe.

The Craftsmanship

Handwelted craftsmanship in leather shoe production offers unparalleled durability, flexibility, and comfort due to meticulous hand-stitching techniques, ensuring superior breathability and personalized fit. With an emphasis on quality craftsmanship and ease of repair, handwelted shoes represent a timeless investment in both style and longevity.

Fiddleback Waist

Compared to the flat waist of the RTW collection, the Artisanal line boasts a signature fiddleback waist, which demands a longer crafting time and can only be achieved through meticulous handwork. This exquisitely narrow waistline results in a more elegant and refined silhouette.

Refined Fudging

The neat and precise fudging and hand-stitched outsole, with 12 stitches per inch (SPI), are the standard of the Artisanal line, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and durability. Every stitch is meticulously aligned with the exact placement of the fudging, reflecting the highest level of craftsmanship.

pitched tight heel

The Artisanal line showcases a precisely crafted heel, expertly pitched to fit snugly to the upper. This technique demands the artisan's patience and skill, requiring substantial time to achieve a flawless finish.

Hand-welted

Compared to the Goodyear welted construction, which attaches the welt using a glued-on rib, our skilled craftsmen use needles and thread to stitch the welt to the upper and insole. This method makes the sole more flexible and durable, requiring exceptional manual dexterity and experience.

Hand-Stitched Outsoles

Hand-stitched outsoles allow for greater flexibility compared to machine-stitched alternatives. This flexibility ensures a more natural movement of the foot, leading to increased comfort, especially during prolonged wear.

Closed Channel

Closed-channel outsoles, seamlessly integrated into our Handwelted construction. Meticulously crafted for durability, they elevate both performance and style, ensuring every step is a statement of sophistication.
